Jessica Partlow graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010 and completed her internship at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center in New Jersey.

Following her internship she worked with the critical care surgeons at Michigan State University and was involved in research on the incidence of colic in Thoroughbred mares and physiology of the gastrointestinal tract of horses.

Jessica then completed her residency in equine surgery at North Carolina University and Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center in New Jersey. These busy hospitals afforded a diverse caseload including Working Quarter horses and Warmblood sport horses in North Carolina and racing Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds in New Jersey.

During Jessica’s residency training she also had the opportunity to complete specialty rotations in advanced diagnostic imaging and internal medicine at Cornell University. Jessica became certified in veterinary medical acupuncture in 2014.

Jessica has continued her involvement in research during this time, authoring manuscripts on equine diagnostic ultrasound and a novel wound healing technique and has presented her work at conferences in the United States and Europe.

Jessica maintains a keen interest in diagnostic ultrasound, advanced imaging and its implications in surgery. She also enjoys working on the equine upper airway and its dynamic examination as well as emergency surgery and critical care.
